About Us

The School Business Partnership Executive Council (SBPEC) is an advisory body composed of leaders from business, industry, nonprofit organizations, higher education, and designated representatives from Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS). It connects LCPS with the broader community to strengthen schools, enrich student experiences, and support workforce development. SBPEC fosters meaningful partnerships, encourages shared commitment, and promotes collaboration across sectors to build lasting community relationships. Through strategic outreach and its advisory role, SBPEC helps guide and expand partnership efforts that align with the school division’s mission and priorities.

Mission and Vision

  • Mission: To promote, support, and strengthen partnerships between Loudoun County Public Schools and the business community in support of student learning and community engagement.

  • Vision: To foster thriving school-community collaborations that enrich education, expand opportunity, and strengthen Loudoun County through shared investment in student success.

Council Functions and Structure

In alignment with its bylaws, SBPEC:

  • Promotes and supports school business partnerships through collaboration and shared opportunities.

  • Monitors partnership progress and provides guidance to ensure effectiveness.

  • Submits an annual report to the School Board on the status and impact of partnership efforts.

  • Engages in strategic outreach and networking to strengthen community connections and attract new partners.

  • Supports division initiatives such as Job for a Day through its Workforce Development Committee, connecting students with real-world career experiences.

  • Hosts the annual Partnership Awards Breakfast to recognize outstanding contributions and celebrate school business collaboration.

  • Operates standing committees focused on Workforce Development, Recognition, Computer Science, and Membership.

SBPEC Initiatives

The LCPS School Business Partnership Executive Council was established by School Board action in 1990. For over 20 years, its primary mission has been to strengthen connections between businesses, industries, and the school division while recognizing business partners who are dedicated to shaping Loudoun's future through their support of today's classrooms.
