Four representatives stand behind a Loudoun County Public Schools booth promoting free preschool and family engagement programs at an outdoor event.

The Leesburg National Night Out, held Tuesday, Aug. 4 at the Douglass Community Center, offered families a fun opportunity to connect with community services, including the LCPS Division of Family and Community Engagement (FACE), Head Start and the McKinney‑Vento teams. Hosted by the Leesburg Police Department, the event brought together families, service providers and local organizations to share resources and strengthen community partnerships.

LCPS staff met with parents and caregivers, answered questions, and highlighted programs designed to ensure every student has the support they need to thrive.

  • FACE shared information about family workshops, school‑community partnerships, and ways families can stay engaged in their student’s learning.

  • Head Start staff connected with families of young learners, offering details about early childhood education and enrollment support.

  • McKinney‑Vento representatives provided guidance for families experiencing housing instability, helping them access educational stability for their children.

“National Night Out serves as a reminder of how strong our community is when we come together. Connecting with families, sharing resources and building relationships is at the heart of our work. Events like this help ensure every student and family feels supported and seen,” said Renée Dawson, FACE Director.
