Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the NAMM Foundation, marking the 18th year in a row the division has received this national recognition for its outstanding commitment to music education. Now in its 27th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to school districts and individual schools across the nation that demonstrate exemplary dedication to music education and ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access to music learning as part of a well-rounded education.

"We value the NAMM recognition of the incredible community support our music programs receive in LCPS,” said Michael Pierson, Visual and Performing Arts Supervisor. “The recognition also stands as a testament to the high-quality programs that support has fostered".

LCPS music programs continue to thrive, with music enrollment on the rise, reflecting strong student interest and sustained community support for music learning across the division. From elementary through high school, students participate in band, chorus, orchestra, guitar, and general music, supported by certified educators, a comprehensive curriculum, and performance opportunities.

Recipients of the 2026 Best Communities for Music Education designation were selected through a comprehensive application and review process that evaluates key indicators such as funding, instructional time, student participation, facilities, and community support. In 2026, more than 1,000 public, private, charter, and parochial schools and districts across the United States were recognized for their outstanding achievement in providing access to high-quality music education.
