The Loudoun County School Board held a meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, in the School Board Meeting Room at the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Administrative Offices, 21000 Education Court in Ashburn.

Two proclamations, Black History Month and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Week, were approved.
School Board and Administrative Advisory Committee Update
Loudoun Education Foundation (LEF) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization founded by the Loudoun County School Board to leverage community generosity, raising more than $3 million in donations annually. LEF reported on recent achievements and initiatives.
Work Session
The work session included an update on the cloud-based SaaS ERP system to modernize operations, led by the Department of Digital Innovation and including Oracle Fusion, TimeClock Plus, and IBM, which were selected as implementation partners. The five-phase roadmap is underway, with Finance and School Activity Funds going live in July 2027 and full implementation scheduled for October 2028.

Recognitions
Various fall teams were recognized, including the LCPS Middle School Intramural Flag Football Champions and VHSL State Champions from around the division. The One LCPS Spotlight featured Work-Based Learning at Heritage High School.

Superintendent’s Report
Included highlights from around the division: thanking the transportation staff for their snow removal efforts, the Thank You Breakfast for Job for a Day partners, and a reminder to attend the upcoming United for Wellness Mental Health and Resource Fair.
Public Comment
Community members participated virtually and in person to provide comments on a range of topics.
Action Items
The School Board approved realigning funding within the Capital Improvement Plan to provide additional funding for the Waterford Elementary School Renovation & Addition, the Valley Service Center/Woodgrove Bus Parking Lot, and the Banneker Elementary School Renovation & Addition Projects.
Information Items
Information items included a report from the Department of Academics on the Action Plans to Support Targeted Support School, and a report from the Department of Business and Financial Services on the FY26 2nd Quarter Financial Review. Additional information items included a briefing from the Department of Support Services on the process for naming a new high school (HS-14), and, discussion of Policy 2310, Committees of the School Board and Policy 3410, Office of the Auditor General.
Closed Meeting
New Business
Amy Riccardi requested that Board Member Comments and Committee Reports be moved to follow Public Comments on the agenda to ensure board members have an opportunity to share their comments in a timely manner and directly with the public. Ms. Chandler will take this under advisement and the Board will discuss this at the School Board Retreat on Feb. 18.
Anne Donohue moved to suspend the rules to vote on a proclamation she brought, declaring Feb. 11, 2026, Crossing Guard Appreciation Day. The School Board passed 8-1 (Mrs. Griffiths abstained).
Amy Riccardi asked for the next steps regarding the conversation the School Board had with the Board of Supervisors at the Feb. 9, 2026, meeting about placing SROs in all elementary schools. Dr. Spence will be in conversation with the Sheriff’s Office and will update the board so they can respond to the BOS by the deadline.
