More than 420 students from across the division registered to participate in this year’s WILD conference, with 96 student presenters leading engaging, thought-provoking sessions for their peers. WILD stands for We’re Intentional about Leadership Development.

The day featured three rounds of student-led breakout sessions, offering students a wide range of learning experiences designed and facilitated by their peers. Session topics spanned student leadership, creativity, wellness, school culture, identity, advocacy and innovative student-driven projects, giving participants the opportunity to explore ideas that matter most to them.

In addition to breakout sessions, the conference included student-led Idea Exchange sessions held opposite lunch shifts. These interactive sessions intentionally mixed students from different schools and guided them through collaborative discussions focused on sharing ideas, experiences and inspiration for future activities and initiatives.

The conference also welcomed guest speaker Dr. Julia Garcia, author of The Five Habits of Hope. Dr. Garcia’s keynote centered on cultivating hope, resilience and purpose, and included a memorable moment on stage engaging directly with a student. reinforcing the conference’s student-centered spirit.

The WILD Conference continues to grow as a powerful platform for student voice, leadership and connection. This year’s record-breaking participation reflects both the enthusiasm of LCPS students and the strength of a program designed to elevate their ideas and perspectives.
