The Loudoun County School Board held a meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, in the School Board Meeting Room at the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Administrative Offices, 21000 Education Court in Ashburn.

Work Session
The Board passed the consent agenda which included two proclamations. One, declaring January 27, 2026 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the second recognizing January 19–23, 2026 as No Name-Calling Week across LCPS.

Pledge of Allegiance
The Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem were performed by Forte, Heritage High School Advanced Choral Ensemble.

Advisory Committee Update
The Gifted Education Advisory Committee (GEAC) shared information on the initiatives and achievements made since the last report on June 10, 2025.   

Recognitions
One LCPS Spotlight: Staff and students from Evergreen Mill Elementary provided an overview of the Python Pals Program and Kindness Club and how both programs help create a sense of belonging among our students.

Superintendent’s Report
Included highlights from around the division, such as a hands-on lesson in native plants at Brambleton Middle, a Woodgrove athletic trainer inducted into the VATa Hall of Fame and a reminder to nominate an employee for the LCPS Annual Awards. View the Superintendent’s Report.

Public Comment
Community members participated virtually and in person to provide the School Board with comments on a range of topics.

Information Items
The Board heard several information items, including the Auditor General’s 2025 Annual Report, presented by the Auditor General and the FY25 Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports, presented by the Business and Finance department. Policies from the Finance & Operations Committee and the Legislative, Audit and Policy Committee were reviewed, as well as two policies from the Student Behavior and Accountability Committee. Additionally, information on the Middleburg Community Charter School (MCCS) Amendment to its Charter Agreement was presented by the Specialized Programs & Centers Committee.

Discussion Item
Ashburn and Dulles North Elementary School Attendance Zones were addressed by the Board on December 16, 2025, but were brought back as a discussion item. There was no action taken by the Board but further discussion was recommended at the next meeting January 28, 2026.
