The Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Division of Family and Community Engagement hosted the division’s first Interfaith Luncheon on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the LCPS Administration Building in Ashburn.
With the theme “United in Service,” the event celebrated the collective impact of faith communities on students and families. The luncheon brought together more than 120 faith leaders, school-based staff and community partners to honor the vital role that faith-based organizations play in supporting students, families and schools across Loudoun County.
Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence delivered the keynote address, emphasizing how faith-based partnerships align with the One LCPS: 2027 Strategic Plan for Excellence goals of access, community and well-being.
“Bringing together leaders from across our faith communities reflects the true spirit of One LCPS,” said Dr. Spence. “Our faith-based partners play a vital role in supporting students and families, helping us extend care, compassion and connection well beyond the classroom. When we unite around service and shared purpose, we create stronger schools and a stronger Loudoun community.”
Attendees also heard stories of impact from LCPS Family Liaisons and faith partners who have collaborated to provide essential resources, ranging from food and furniture to mentoring and newcomer support, to students and families in need. “Faith in Action,” a short video showcasing the partnership between St. Theresa Catholic Church, McLean Bible Church and LCPS Family Liaisons, highlighted their joint efforts to meet student and family needs.
Held on World Kindness Day, the Interfaith Luncheon featured guided table discussions that encouraged dialogue and idea sharing among participants, inspiring new opportunities for collective impact in 2026 and beyond.
“Education thrives when the broader community walks alongside our schools,” said Renée Dawson, director of Family and Community Engagement. “Our faith partners are often the unsung heroes whose generosity and compassion make a lasting difference in the lives of students, staff and families. Their continued partnership strengthens our schools and builds a foundation of belonging and care that extends throughout our community.”
As a gesture of appreciation, guests received a World Kindness Day gift symbolizing the shared commitment to “plant kindness” and nurture a stronger, more connected community that uplifts every family, every child, every day.
