The Loudoun County School Board held a meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, in the School Board Meeting Room at the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Administrative Offices, 21000 Education Court in Ashburn.

Work Session

The School Board received an update on Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 student enrollment and was provided the FY 2027 – FY 2032 enrollment forecast.

The School Board received the FY 2027 –  FY 2032 Superintendent's Proposed Capital Budget, which includes the June 9, 2025, School Board Item 2.06 Budget Priorities Brainstorm.

The School Board heard how the Division of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (CTAE) has developed an industry-supported multi-year CTE pathway expansion plan.

The Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem were performed by the Heritage High School Guitar Ensemble.

Superintendent’s Report

Highlights of the report include:

  • Cardinal Ridge ES earned a Green Ribbon School Recognition for its environmental efforts.

  • The annual LEF Golf Tournament raised funds to support LCPS students and staff.

  • Woodgrove HS earned the Project ADAM Heart Safe School Designation.

Community members participated virtually and in person to provide the School Board with comments on a range of topics.

Action Items

There were no Action Items addressed by the School Board.

Information Items

The Board addressed two information items, including:

  1. The School Board discussed the attendance zone change process for the Ashburn and Dulles North area elementary schools, which was initiated to address projected student enrollments with available school capacity.

  2. The Department of Support Services presented the School Board with an update on Inclusive Playgrounds.

The Board then went into a Closed Session.
