Students and staff of Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) celebrated the second annual One LCPS Celebration Day on Thursday, October 16. Dr. Spence created the event last year to celebrate schools, their staff and students for everything they do for LCPS. Students and staff were asked to show their LCPS spirit by wearing their school’s spirit wear or school colors.
“We’re observing One LCPS Celebration Day to recognize the incredible educators, leaders, families and students who make living and working in Loudoun County so amazing,” said Dr. Aaron Spence, LCPS Superintendent. “We are one of the nation’s leading school divisions, and it’s important that we spend some time reflecting on and sharing in the spirit of this work we do together.”
Dr. Spence, along with division leadership and senior staff, visited schools to take photos, express thanks and say congratulations. Schools were provided with fun photo gear, such as selfie boards, foam fingers and stickers. Students and staff also competed in a photo contest for various awards. Winners will be announced the first full week of November.
There is certainly a lot to celebrate at LCPS. From state-leading SOL scores to collaborative workforce development, LCPS is a leader not only in Northern Virginia but across the US. Learn more by checking out the LCPS fact sheet.
