Loudoun Valley High School (LVHS) Head Football Coach David Bishop has been named the Washington Commanders’ “Tackle Coach of the Week” for Week 1 of the season. The award recognizes high school coaches across the region who demonstrate exceptional leadership, sportsmanship and commitment to their players both on and off the field.
As part of the honor, the Washington Commanders are awarding a grant to support the Loudoun Valley football program. Coach Bishop and a guest will also be invited to a Commanders home game later this season, where he will be recognized on the field and featured on the stadium’s video boards.
Team sports programs like football help students build leadership skills, resilience and a sense of belonging, while also strengthening connections between schools and their surrounding communities. The Commanders’ Coach of the Week program highlights coaches who make a positive impact through football by inspiring young athletes and fostering community pride.
“This recognition reflects Coach Bishop’s dedication to his players, our school and the greater Loudoun Valley community,” said Dr. Susan Ross, LVHS Principal. “He not only develops strong athletes, but also instills character, teamwork and responsibility, qualities that extend well beyond the field and benefit our entire community.”
