The Loudoun County School Board held a meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, in the School Board Meeting Room at the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Administrative Offices, 21000 Education Court in Ashburn.

Work Session
One LCPS Spotlight: Staff and students from Newton Lee Elementary and Henrietta Lacks Elementary provided an overview of the impact of the STEP Program.

The Board and staff engaged in discussion and input on the 2025-2026 Professional Learning plan and the necessary supports needed.

The School Board then entered into a Closed Session.

Pledge of Allegiance
The Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem were performed by the Brambleton Middle School Select Orchestra Ensemble.

Advisory Committee Update
The Gifted Education Advisory Committee (GEAC) provided the School Board with an update.

Superintendent’s Report
Highlights of the report include:

  • LCPS First-Graders honored Memorial Day through Together in Rememberance.

  • LCPS Student Journalists were celebrated by LoudounNow.

  • CAMPUS program celebrates 143 graduating seniors, with 90% attending college.

Public Comment
Community members participated virtually and in person to provide the School Board with comments on a range of topics.

Action Items
The Board addressed two action items:

  1. The School Board approved the November 2025 Bond Referendum - School Board Resolution requesting financing from the Board of Supervisors for school purposes.

  2. The School Board adopted the amended Staff Plan, involving changes to existing Dulles South Secondary School Attendance Zones. All changes included with this action will be implemented in fall 2026, with the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

Information Items
The Board addressed the following information item:

  1. The School Board reviewed staff-recommended primary resources identified for expanding academic program course offerings.

The School Board then entered into a Closed Session.

The School Board meeting was held in recess at 10:25 p.m. and will reconvene on Tuesday, June 17, at 6:30 p.m.
