Advisory Committee Update
The Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee (CTEAC) provided the School Board with an update on the achievements, initiatives, and future considerations since the last report presented on December 10, 2024.
Work Session
Staff from the Department of Support Services provided the School Board with an update on the LCPS Sustainability Plan.

Highlights of the report include:
LCPS celebrates all teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5-9, 2025.
LCPS partnered with LEF and Amazon to provide STEM Think Big Corners in 4 elementary schools.
LCPS schools participated in the Run the Greenway, leading into the division’s week of play.

Action Items
The Board addressed two action items:
The School Board voted to adopt Savvas: My Perspectives for Grades 6-8 English.
The School Board voted to adopt all recommended resources for Mathematics Grades K-12.
Information Items
The Board addressed several information items, including:
The School Board discussed the Finance & Operations Committee’s approved revisions of Policy 6130, Unpaid Meal Debt.
The School Board discussed the proposed renewal of the LCPS contract with Fairfax County Public Schools to continue sending students to Thomas Jefferson High School in the 2026-2027 school year.
The School Board discussed the Student Services Committee's approved revisions of Policy 8125, Admission Requirements.
The School Board then entered into a Closed Session.
New Business
The School Board amended its previous decision and renamed Frances Hazel Reid Elementary School, located at 800 North King Street in Leesburg, to Richard and Mildred Loving Elementary School, such change to go into effect on July 1, 2025.
