Ahmad Woods, Auditor General

  • Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) announces that Ahmad Woods has joined the staff as the inaugural Auditor General.  Hiring for this position was a priority in the 2023 Fiscal Year and will serve to address Strategic Plan goal #3 - Enriched Division.

In his role as Auditor General, Woods will identify and evaluate risk areas and detect potential areas of organizational vulnerability, while also seeking out opportunities for improvement.  His role will be vital to maintain an inclusive, safe, caring, and rigorous learning environment as the foundation for student growth.

“Ahmad is an experienced auditor who has served in a variety of roles in a number of large organizations,” stated Superintendent Dr. Scott Ziegler.  “Ahmad brings a clear understanding of the role of the auditor and has access to a wealth of local and international resources that will assist him in developing this office to achieve success.”

Woods, a native of California, played professional baseball for three years before earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Grambling State University.  The center fielder was drafted out of high school by the Atlanta Braves and played three seasons in the Gulf Coast and Appalachian Leagues before pursuing his current career.

Woods has been an auditor since 2008 and has worked in Texas, Virginia, and Washington DC. Most recently he served as the senior auditor for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
