Parents/guardians who wish for their student to attend a school different than their home school may apply for Special Permission. Due to recent changes to the Special Permission process, found in Policy 8155, School Assignment, the Special Permission application window now opens earlier than in previous years. This year, the Special Permission application window is open from Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 at 10 a.m. to Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Parents/guardians of elementary students currently on Special Permission must submit a request to continue attending the Special Permission school on or before March 1. Parents/guardians of middle or high school students must submit a request to renew Special Permission to attend the current school of attendance on or before March 1. If a school’s projected enrollment is at 90% of the school’s capacity, this school is classified as over-enrolled. (The schools projected to be over-enrolled can be found on the Special Permission website. Please be aware that this list is subject to change.) Special Permission applications for these schools will not be available.
