Hello, BAM Families!
My name is Kelly Dunn and I am the military connected school counselor at BAM. In this role, I coordinate special events and provide support programs for our military connected students that promote their academic, social and emotional success at school. One of the support programs that I lead is monthly circle meetings for all military connected students. We will meet once per month during advisory, starting in November. Circles are a way to facilitate community building with our BAM military-connected students! In these meetings we gather to provide our military connected students with a place to connect with other military connected students and receive support, if needed. Students at Brambleton that have one or more parent and/or guardian who are either an active-duty member of the armed forces, in the reserves, or is a veteran are invited to join this group. If you wish to have your student participate as a military connected student, please fill out this GOOGLE FORM so your student can receive an invite.
The Google Form can also be found below:

In addition, we would like to start a Wall of Honor to be on display all school year in our main hallway. We would like to include any parents/guardians who are veterans, in the reserves and/or are active-duty members to our Wall of Honor. If you are interested in adding your Military photo and information, please fill out the google form linked above. There is a section on the form which asks for you to upload your picture and a space to include: branch of the military served, years of service, etc. We look forward to recognizing and supporting our military connected families this school year.
If you have any questions about our military connected student supports, please do not hesitate to reach out to me Kelly.dunn@lcps.org. In addition, mark your calendars for Brambleton's Veteran's Day Breakfast in a few weeks, Friday November 7th! More information about this event will be shared soon! I hope you have a great afternoon!
With Brambleton Bear Pride,
Ms. Dunn & Mr. Marple
