The 2024 Fall Admissions Cycle is for eligible 8th graders applying for 9th grade enrollment to the Academies of Loudoun for the 2025-2026 school year. This is where you will find the most current information about the admissions process and the criteria necessary to apply to the Academy of Engineering & Technology (AET) and/or the Academy of Science (AOS) programs. The Admissions & Outreach Team is here to support you through this process. We will be conducting a number of Fall Admissions Information Sessions throughout Loudoun County (see schedule below) and visiting with all of our LCPS 8th graders at their schools during the Fall Admissions Cycle. 2024 Fall Application Timeline & Requirements

• Application Window Opens | August 19, 2024

• Application Window Closes | October 16, 2024 - Application portal will close at 12:00 PM (NOON)

• Fall Admissions Testing Sessions | October 26, 2024, and November 9th and 16th, 2024 (Register online for one session)

• March 2025 - Admissions offers will be posted in the admissions portal

• March-August 2025 - Applicants must accept or decline all admissions offers. Waitlisted applicants will be notified as seats become available

AOS Admission Criteria

All applicants:

• Enrolled in Algebra I or above at the time of application

• Writing Assessment

• STEM Thinking Skills Assessment

• Final grade of C or above in math and science courses in grades 6 and 7, and semester I of grade 8

AET Admission Criteria

All applicants:

• Enrolled in Algebra I or above at the time of application

• Writing Assessment

• STEM Thinking Skills Assessment

• Final grade of C or above in math and science courses in grades 6 and 7, and semester I of grade 8

Please include preferred date(s) and language(s). NOTE: All requests must be received no later than five (5) business days prior to your selected information session.

Testing Accommodations Information STEM Thinking Skills Assessment/Writing Assessments Accommodations

Students who are requesting testing accommodations for the Writing Assessment or STEM Thinking Skills Assessment must request the accommodations in writing to AcademiesAdmissions@lcps.org no later October 16, 2024.

 Important:  Only accommodations for assessments that are part of an IEP (Individualized Education Program), Section 504 Plan, or an EL-APP (English Learner Assessment Participation Plan) can be considered.

**Home/Private schools students offered admission to the Academies of Loudoun must be enrolled as full-time LCPS students in order to attend the Academies of Loudoun.
