Blood Drive

Who will win the Battle of Sterling? 🏆
Potomac Falls High School and Dominion High School are going head-to-head in a blood drive competition that saves lives right here in our community. Every donor counts—and the school with the most donors wins bragging rights and the victory. Check the flyer below to see how you can be part of this friendly rivalry that turns school spirit into lifesaving impact.

Why it matters:
Blood donations are essential to keeping our local hospitals prepared for emergencies, surgeries, cancer treatments, and the tiniest patients in the NICU. Blood can’t be manufactured, and it has a short shelf life—so it takes neighbors helping neighbors to keep the supply strong for when it’s needed most.

This drive is especially meaningful to the Bohon family, who know firsthand the power of blood donation. Their son Alfie spent 44 days on ECMO life support at Inova Fairfax shortly after being born at Inova Loudoun and required blood products from over 80 donors to survive. Today, Alfie is a thriving four-year-old Lil Panther in the Potomac Falls HS Preschool—a living reminder of what donated blood makes possible. Donate in honor of Alfie and all the children who depend on blood during their hospital stays.
