Winter Reminders

We wanted to reach out with a few rew reminders from our LVHS pillars of teaching and learning, wellness, student behavior, and communication. We will send this message again following winter break as we reset in the new year. At your convenience, please take time to review this information with your student(s).

Student Behavior

Student Lunch Reminders

A reminder that LVH is a closed campus. Students must remain on campus at all times- including during lunch. At no time are students permitted to sign out or leave campus for lunch- this includes parents submitting early dismissals for students to leave campus for lunch.

Second, we only accept deliveries from parents for their specific student. Please follow the drop off process at the cart located outside the front entrance of the school. Vendors such as Grubhub, Door Dash, etc. are not permitted.

Early Dismissals

Students are only permitted to leave if an early dismissal request has been submitted by a parent. These early dismissal requests must be received at least an hour in advance of the requested early dismissal time. This is for safety reasons to ensure that we have accurate information on who is on campus in case of an emergency. For more information on how to request an early dismissal, please click here:

https://www.lcps.org/o/lvh/page/attendance

Students should sign out in the main office after the staff have confirmed receipt of the early dismissal.

Teaching and Learning

The end of the second quarter is January 22, 2026. We are about half-way through the second quarter. Please encourage your students to ensure they are caught up in class and remind them to reach out to the teacher for assistance and support as needed prior to winter break.

Wellness

As winter cold and flu season approaches, we wanted to remind both parents and students of the LCPS student medication policy. Students are not permitted to have medications with them. This includes items such as ibuprofen, cold and sinus medication, medicated cough drops, over the counter medications, or prescription medications. If a student needs access to medication (both over the counter and prescription), parents may fill out the LCPS Medication Authorization form and drop off the specific medication(s) and form with our school nurse. The school health office is open from 9 am to 4:20 pm. Please call the school nurse with any questions regarding student medication.

Please use the link below to access the LCPS form and for additional information: https://www.lcps.org/o/doss/page/medical-forms

Our LVHS newsletter will be sent on December 19 and 21 and the same newsletter will run again on January 2 and 4. The updated newsletter will resume on January 9 after the return from winter break.
