Clubs - How the Process Works
Woodgrove HS offers over 50 student clubs and organizations that are open to all members of the school community and serve just about every type of interest imaginable.
Co-curricular clubs are those that are aligned to a course offering, such as DECA and Educators Rising. Extra-curricular clubs are those that interest-based, such as affinity groups, honor societies, service groups, career-oriented groups, and sport groups.
When Clubs Meet
Most WHS groups meet during Thursday DenTime blocks as part of either the Blue Club Days or the Green Club Days. These are the meeting dates for the two club rotations this year:

How to Sign Up and Attend Club Meetings
Most clubs are open to all members of the student body. Some groups, however, have certain requirements that are related to specific courses, such as the co-curricular groups. Other groups, such as Class Council, may be open only to members of that grade. Use the button at the top of the page to see the contact information for any club's advisor that you feel you need to reach out to in order to have questions answered.
For clubs that meet before and after school, their meeting dates and times are listed in the spreadsheet using the button at the top of the page.
For cubs that meet on either Blue Club or Green Club Days, signing up to attend these meetings follows this process during the first quarter:
The first three Blue Club Days (Sept 11, Sept 25, and Oct 16) and the first three Green Club Days (Sept 18, Oct 9, and Oct 23) will require that students sign up in advance to attend these meetings. Monday morning of each week, the Flex Schedule tab will be visible in StudentVUE. Students need to go into this tab, select the club they wish to attend that week, and click Save.
Students must make their selection and save it before 11:59pm Wednesday night in order to attend that Thursday's meeting.
Students may change or delete their selection prior to 11:59pm Wednesday.
The process starts over the following Monday.
Each student may "try out" up to three Blue Clubs and up to three Green Clubs during these weeks of the first quarter.
From Oct 24-28, students who wish to sign up for the one Blue Club and the one Green Club they would like to attend for the rest of the school year may do so. Students may only select a club they have attended in the previous six weeks.
From Oct 29-31, club advisors will review the list of signups and verify which students are now "rostered" into the clubs for the remainder of the year. These rostered clubs will appear in StudentVUE by the start of the second quarter.
This graphic displays the timeline of the events:

What Students Must Do in Order to be Eligible to Participate
Updated LCPS regulations for 2025-2026 state that students must be on time to school (9:30am) and remain in school all day with no early dismissals (4:18pm) to be eligible to participate in ANY student activities that day.
Student Activities include:
school athletics (practices, games, contests, tournaments, etc.)
school clubs and organizations (meetings, events, planning sessions, etc.)
school performing arts groups (rehearsals, performances, try-outs, etc.)
The only exceptions to this are doctor and dentist visits with an accompanying note.
DenTime teachers will not allow students who were tardy to school on Club Days to leave DenTime to attend club meetings. Club advisors will not allow students who were tady to school or had an early dismissal on Club Days to attend club meetings or participate in club activites that day. The identical expectations will hold for school atheltics and school performing arts groups.

Proposing a New Club
Clubs are student-centered. As such, proposals for new clubs must be student-generated, and a student must complete the necessary Google Form.
Proposals for new clubs are accepted from August 1 through September 30. Proposed new clubs need:
A total of five student members to show there is enough of an interest.
A WHS staff member advisor who has agreed to the responsibilities of the position.
To fill a need within the school community that an already-existing group does not meet.
