BeeBuck Bankers

At Hovatter Elementary, leadership, kindness, and community spirit are at the heart of everything we do. Our 5th grade Hive Helpers embody these values each day as they volunteer their time, skills, and enthusiasm to support our school. From assisting younger students to running the morning news show, these service teams help the Hive run smoothly AND make Hovatter a brighter place for everyone.

Below is a spotlight on the incredible teams who keep our school buzzing with positivity and purpose.

Henrietta Helpers

Over sixty 5th graders volunteered to become Henrietta Helpers, supporting our first graders each morning as they begin their school day. Paired with younger students, these helpers assist with routines, organization, and classroom support. Our younger honeybees love having such wonderful role models!

Library Helpers

Our Library Helpers ensure that our library remains a welcoming, organized space for all learners. These students collect books from classrooms, assist with shelving and sorting, and help keep materials prepared for lessons and checkouts. Their dedication helps our library run smoothly day after day.

Script Writers

Behind every great broadcast is a team of great writers! Our Script Writers craft the daily announcements, introductions, and special segments that bring our Live from the Hive morning show to life. Their creativity, teamwork, and attention to detail help set a positive tone for the entire school each morning.

Student News Anchors

Our Student News Anchors take center stage each day on the Channel Bee News Network. With confidence and enthusiasm, they deliver important announcements, share school highlights, and bring energy to our mornings. Their leadership helps connect our school community and inspires younger students.

News Production Team

Working behind the scenes, the News Production Team operates the broadcasting software, designs graphics, and coordinates the entire Live from the Hive daily show. Their technical skills and calm coordination ensure that each broadcast runs smoothly from start to finish.

Bus Sign Holders

Every afternoon, our Bus Sign Holders stand ready, rain or shine, to help students find their buses during dismissal. Their work is especially helpful for our K–2 students at Henrietta Lacks Elementary, ensuring everyone gets home safely and confidently. Their reliability makes a huge difference in a busy part of our day.

Car Rider Helpers

Our Car Rider Helpers greet students with smiles each morning, opening car doors and helping our youngest honeybees walk safely into the school. Their kindness and responsibility help create a warm, welcoming start to the day for all families.

Bee Buck Bankers

These detail‑oriented leaders support our PBIS program by collecting and counting Bee Bucks from classrooms each week. Their careful work ensures that all classes receive credit for demonstrating expected behaviors and helps keep our positive school culture thriving.

Art and Music Helpers

Our Art and Music Helpers keep creativity flowing in the art and music room by prepping materials, organizing supplies, and helping ensure classes are ready for hands‑on projects. Their behind‑the‑scenes support helps students focus on creating and expressing themselves.

Green Team

The Green Team leads our school’s sustainability efforts. They recently completed a schoolwide recycling audit and are now planning for the Hovatter Garden and pollinator-friendly landscaping. Their forward‑thinking vision and commitment to caring for the environment inspire the entire Hive.

Our Hive Helpers show what it means to lead with heart, responsibility, and kindness. Each of these service teams plays an essential role in supporting our school community and we are incredibly proud of the impact they make every single day.
