Arrival and Dismissal

Please see the following regarding tips on a successful arrival to school:

  • Because we expect to have many cars on campus each day, it is strongly recommended that if you reside in a walk zone that students walk to/from school. While we will do our best to move vehicles as efficiently as possible, it is expected to take a while to learn the traffic patterns and arrival/dismissal protocols.

  • If driving your child to school and using the Kiss & Go line, please be patient as students disembark from their cars. We would ask that parents always remain in their vehicles as we will have adults and members of the safety patrol available to help your child get out of the vehicle.

  • If you intend to drive your child to school, but want to walk them to the door, please park in the large parking lot on the west end of the school. You may then escort your child through the gate near the playground, follow the pathway around the blacktop, and walk your child to the front door (labeled exit B-3).

  • Cars will not be permitted in the bus loop. There will be a time where we will direct cars into the bus loop once the current traffic patterns on campus are learned. Buses must have total access to the bus loop at all times.

The following are important notes regarding our dismissal:

  • Cars will not be permitted in the Kiss & Go lanes prior to 2:20 PM. There will be cones that will block off this area. The main reason for this is to allow for safe passage of students during recess times. This area is also utilized for fire drill evacuations.

  • We will utilize the number system as we did last year to help with matching up students to their proper vehicle. Students will wait at their grade level cone on the sidewalk of the Kiss & Go loop before being called to their vehicle.

  • Parents are not allowed on the sidewalk of the Kiss & Go Loop. We ask that parents remain in their vehicle. We will have adults to help place children in vehicles if they are unable to get in.

  • Parents that wish to park in the lot and walk to get their children must plan to meet them at the doors behind the library, labeled exit C-1. All student walkers will be dismissed out this door. Adult staff members will be on hand to help with walker dismissal.

  • Please note that we will start car loop dismissal at 2:45 each day. Please be patient as we institute our current protocols for a safe and efficient car loading of students.
