The Office of Procedural Support is dedicated to providing responsive, student-centered, collaborative guidance and leadership related to the implementation of and compliance with federal and state regulations as they pertain to special education.
The Office of Procedural Support supports LCPS’ ability to provide special education services in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
The Office also supports parents of students with a disability and school-based staff in 504 Plan and Individualized Education Program (IEP) development. This Office engages parents of students with disability in a collaborative decision-making process. This Office also provides direct assistance to school-based staff engaged in case management, interpretation of and compliance with regulations pertaining to special education, inclusive practices and other identified school needs.
