As part of our efforts to provide an engaging learning experience, LCPS uses a range of digital tools and services to support instruction and enhance student learning. Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, LCPS is now required by Google to ask parents to consent, or “opt-in,” for their students to be able to access third-party applications not designed explicitly for K-12 use, which are commonly used in instruction, like YouTube, Google Maps, and Google Translate.
There is no action needed now; however, this fall, when you complete the Online Verification process for your student(s), you will see a box to opt your student in for these third-party applications for their use in learning. We are letting you now so you have time to research and review the process to the degree you wish prior to the Online Verification process in August. For additional details: https://lcps.pub/4kKVemU

As the Week of Play comes to a close, we’re celebrating all the moments—big and small—that brought joy, movement, and connection to our schools, homes, and communities. Thank you to everyone who participated, supported and embraced the spirit of movement this week! Whether you stretched between tasks, danced in the kitchen or took mindful walks with your family—you made wellness a priority, and it showed. Let’s keep moving forward—together. Share your favorite moment from the week and tag your school so we can celebrate with you!

Want to play and move but don’t have equipment? No problem. Today’s challenge is to get creative with movement. Use what’s around you—pillows, chalk, stairs or cardboard boxes—and turn everyday items into a movement adventure. Did your living room become an obstacle course? Did the driveway turn into a hopscotch court? Show us your creative play.
Rolling is more fun together! Grab a partner—your friend, sibling, neighbor or even a pet—and celebrate Bike & Roll to School Day and the Week of Play! Moving together builds fitness, friendship and fun. What activity helps you connect while you move?

Every “body” is different—and that’s something to celebrate. Whether you’re stretching in your seat, rolling through the park or tapping your toes to a favorite song, today’s focus is to move in a way that feels right for you. Snap a photo of how YOU moved today and tell us what made it enjoyable.

The LCPS Week of Play starts today. Join us in celebrating physical activity, wellness and community through simple, daily movement—no matter your age, ability, or fitness level. www.lcps.org/familywellness
