POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION SUPPORT (PBIS)

Positive Behavior Intervention Support reinforces appropriate behavior expected at Hillside Elementary.

It is a school-wide effort to encourage and engage students to be Ready, Responsible and Respectful

members of our school community. Evidence-based, PBIS improves the social-emotional competence, academic success and learning environment for students by prioritizing and teaching shared value outcomes and promoting high expectations.

How We Do This

- By embracing Hillside's Vision Statement that provides a framework for student success:

Hillside Vision: All students will have the opportunity to excel academically and achieve their personal goals

  • By using consistent and common language and practices to reinforce expected behaviors

  • By recognizing students for demonstrating positive behaviors
