    BrightBytes Survey 2018

2018 Brightbytes Survey Begins April 2
Loudoun County Public Schools has partnered with BrightBytes, an educational research and analytics company, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning.
    Parents, please complete this survey.
    Thank you!
Parents, students (grades 3-12) and teachers are asked to respond to the survey to help our school division form a more complete picture of technology use for learning.  Your responses will help our school division choose the right technology for our classrooms and ensure that the technology that students do use is being used effectively. Please know that all responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy. The parent questionnaire will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The student and teacher survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

    IMPORTANT ENROLLMENT NOTICE
Maximum class sizes for the 2018-19 school year have been established
at LCPS elementary schools as follows:

    Kindergarten: 25*

    Grades 1-3: 28

    Grades 4-5: 31

As these maximums are reached at specific grade levels, new students will be assigned to another LCPS school through the Office of Elementary Education and placed on a numbered waiting list. If space should become available during the year, parents will be given the option to either enroll their child at the home school or have their child remain in the overflow school for the remainder of the school year. Transportation will be provided by the school district for any child assigned to an overflow school.

*School Board Policy 5065 provides two exceptions:
    1. The first situation in which an exception is permissible is when staff deems that sufficient and appropriate classroom space is not available to form a new kindergarten class at the same school. In this situation, the maximum class size is 27.

    2. The second situation in which an exception is permissible is when the creation of an additional class would result in an average kindergarten class size at that school of 13 or fewer students. In this situation, the maximum class size is 26.
