Junior Parking Permit Information (Active Aug. 1)

Junior spots are limited. A permit is not guaranteed for parking until you receive an email from Dr. Lewis.

To fully process this application, the student must complete the VA Commonwealth Form and upload it to the "Junior Parking Permit Request" on Aug 1st.

SENIORS ONLY!!  Paint the Spot Information

Lightridge will not have enough parking spaces for everyone in 2025-2026.

Seniors will have priority for parking spaces, followed by Juniors. Juniors will be able to sign up for parking on August 1st.

  • DEADLINE for SENIORS to submit their parking application is Monday August,4. If you do not submit your application by the deadline, you will forfeit your parking privilege for the 2025-2026 school year as the remaining spots will be allocated to juniors. 

  • Maintaining Your Parking Spot – Your parking permit will be revoked if you have multiple parking violations and/or reach Chronic Absenteeism (Unexcused) or Chronic Tardies (Unexcused). Chronic Absenteeism and Tardies is 10% or More.

    • Nine (9) Unexcused Absences and/or Tardies per quarter– Refunds will not be provided.

SENIORS ONLY:

  1. Complete your Commonwealth of VA Parking Pass Application and your Senior Spot Design Form—both are required. Submit them both to the assignment in your grade-level Schoology page (please do NOT bring them to the school)

  2. Once both forms are submitted, you’ll receive an email to your LCPS account with a link to pay $25 (required for choosing and/or painting a spot).

  3. After payment, you’ll receive a second email with a link to select your top 5 spot preferences.

  4. Final confirmation of your assigned spot will be emailed by  August 4.

If you do not wish to select your spot, you must still submit the Commonwealth of Virginia Parking Pass Application, and your spot will be randomly assigned (no fee is required).

  1. If you are a senior & paid for “Paint the Lot” and have yet to receive an email with a spot number or have questions about painting please email Mrs. Barbrow 

  2. You must currently have a valid driver's license to apply.

  3. Please contact Dr. Lewis, Assistant Principal or Renardo Mack, Lead SSO, if you have general parking questions.

 

Parking Expectations

Parking facilities are offered at Lightridge High School as a convenience to students who drive to school. Parking on school grounds is a privilege that may be granted and/or revoked by the School Administration. Any student parking on school grounds is required to have a parking permit properly displayed in their vehicle. T

By submitting an application, you agree to abide by the following rules:

  • Students must always have a valid driver’s license on them.

  • Students must register any vehicle (up to 2) that will be parked on school property.

  • Parking permits must be visible and hung on the backside of the rear-view mirror.

  • The use of another student’s parking permit is prohibited and will result in disciplinary consequences.

  • Once on school grounds, students will not be allowed to leave until school is dismissed

    or the student has an early dismissal/early release.

  • Students may not sit in parked vehicles or linger in the parking area.

  • Traffic laws, school regulations, and normal safety procedures must always be observed.

  • The speed limit on school property is 10 miles per hour.

  • Drivers are responsible for the conduct of their passengers and the contents of their vehicles while on school grounds and while driving to and from school.

  • Please keep your vehicle locked while on school grounds.

  • Cars parked on school property are subject to search under School Board Policy 8-2.

  • The penalty for illegal parking may result in disciplinary action and suspension of your driving privilege.

  • Vehicles that are improperly parked, blocking fire or driving lanes, or constitute a safety hazard, may be tagged, ticketed, booted, or towed at the expense of the owner – this includes those without a properly displayed parking permit.

  • Violations of any of these guidelines may result in revocation of parking privilege and/or other disciplinary action with no refund of the parking permit.

  • All rules and expectations apply when on school property.

  • All students 18 years of age or under must have parent permission unless otherwise approved by the administration.

The Administration Reserves The Right To Rescind Driving Privileges Of Students For The Following Reasons:

  1. Unsatisfactory academic progress

  2. Accumulating excessive tardies or absences

  3. Excessive or serious disciplinary infractions

  4. For any other reasons deemed appropriate
