Born in Jakarta and raised in Singapore, Pat grew up with Chinese Indonesian parents who nurtured her love for great food and good books. This led her to a career writing both cookbooks and children’s books. Pat’s debut picture book, Ramen for Everyone, was a JLG Gold Selection and won the Mockingbird Award. Her fourth picture book, Monkey’s Sweet Surprise—A Lunar New Year Mix-Up, has just been released. With decades of experience, Pat has built a strong career as a food writer and cookbook author. She has always loved eating good food and writing about it, and now her work appears in outlets like the Washington Post and Serious Eats. Pat lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and son.
