LCPS will provide six (6) weeks/30 working days of 100% of your salary after the first 30 workings days of absence if you meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Be employed with LCPS for one year (365 days) in a full-time benefits eligible position in the

  year immediately preceding the start of your leave.

• Apply and be approved for FMLA/leave.

• Apply to receive short-term disability through your short term disability company.

• Apply for Medical Paid Leave no later than 30 calendar days after the 31st day of your absence.

Applying for Medical Paid Leave is the employee’s responsibility and is a separate process from applying for FMLA/leave or short-term disability. To apply for Medical Paid Leave, please click on the Medical Paid Leave Application portal. Note that you cannot apply before your 31st working day of absence.

• Apply for Parental Paid Leave within 30 calendar days after the start of your leave and after having activated your short term disability.

If your baby comes early, apply as soon as practical within 48 hours. Please note that failure to follow the procedures outlined above may result in a delay or ineligibility for Parental Paid Leave. No request will be approved more than 30 calendar days retroactively after the start of your leave.
