Paid Leave Programs
Effective July 1, 2025, no separate application is required to receive benefits under LCPS’ Parental and Medical Paid Leave Programs. If you meet the eligibility requirements outlined below, the Leave & Disability team will automatically designate your paid leave.
Medical Paid Leave Program
LCPS will provide six (6) weeks/30 working days of 100% of your salary after the first 30 workings days of absence if you meet the following eligibility requirements:
Be employed with LCPS for one year (365 days) in a full-time benefits eligible position in the
year immediately preceding the start of your leave.
Apply and be approved for FMLA/leave.
Apply to receive short-term disability through your short term disability company.
If you meet the above requirements, Leave & Disability will designate up to the next 30 working days of your leave as paid under the Medical Paid Leave program, following an initial 30 working days of absence.
Parental Paid Leave Program
LCPS will provide six (6) weeks/30 working days of 100% pay as of the start of your leave if you meet the following eligibility requirements:
Be employed with LCPS for one year (365 days) in a full-time benefits eligible position in the
year immediately preceding the start of your leave.
Apply and be approved for FMLA/leave.
You must apply to receive short-term disability through your short term disability company.
