  • Kindergarten Registration Rescheduled for April 5th

Due to the inclement weather, LCPS has rescheduled Kindergarten (and first-time first graders) Registration for Thursday, April 5.  Parents of incoming kindergarten and first grade students who have already pre-registered online and scheduled an appointment with the Rosa Lee Carter attendance secretary for March 21 will be moved to the same time on April 5.  Parents whose schedules cannot be adjusted to accommodate the change of date should contact the RLC school attendance secretary to reschedule their April 5 appointment time.  Parents with appointments scheduled after March 21 should plan on keeping those appointments.

This rescheduling DOES NOT affect a child’s space in kindergarten which is based on when the appointment was initially made and NOT on the appointment date.

Maximum class sizes for the 2017-18 school year have been established at LCPS elementary schools as follows:

    Kindergarten:          25

    Grades 1-3:            28
    Grades 4-5:            31

As these maximums are reached at specific grade levels, new students will be assigned to another LCPS school through the Office of Elementary Education and placed on a numbered waiting list. If space should become available during the year, parents will be given the option to either enroll their child at the home school or have their child remain in the overflow school for the remainder of the school year. Transportation will be provided by the school district for any child assigned to an overflow school.
