RECOGNITIONS
The color guard from the Loudoun County High School Naval JuniorReserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) presented the colors for the Pledge of Allegiance. Presenting the colors were Cadet Seaman Apprentice Max Walsh, Cadet Seaman Apprentice Alyssa Devenney, Cadet Seaman Apprentice E.J. Poell and Cadet Seaman Apprentice Alex Winemiller. Cmdr. Jeremy Gillespie gave a brief overview of the NJROTC program. J. Lupton Simpson Middle School civics teacher Kenneth Fawcett and students Logan Carrington, Charles Opoku-Amoako, Brenda Wong, Haider Ghumman, Sarah Mease, Tory Stamps, Kyle Cicalese and Takerra Scott presented the proclamation for American Education Week. Social Science Supervisor Bill Brazier introduced Loudoun Valley High School and Loudoun Academy of Science senior Carter Huffman, the top foreign competitor in the International Space Olympics. Director of Diagnostic and Prevention Services John Lody presented the proclamation for School Psychology Awareness Week.

Ana M. Matiz of Potomac Falls was introduced as the November Student School Board representative.

INFORMATION ITEMS
Planning and Legislative Services – Director of Planning and Legislative Services Dr. Sam Adamo presented the staff attendance boundary recommendation for ES-20. Superintendent Edgar B. Hatrick III and Adamo presented the Superintendent's Recommended FY 2011 through FY 2016 Capital Improvement Program.
Support Services – Assistant Superintendent for Support Services Jeff Platenberg presented the Superintendent's Proposed Capital Asset Preservation Program (CAPP) for Fiscal Years 2011 through 2016.
Business and Financial Services – Assistant Superintendent for Business and Financial Services E. Leigh Burden provided an update on the Health Plan Request for Proposal.
Deputy Superintendent – Potomac District School Board member John Stevens presented School Board Policy Revisions §2-17, Committee to Suggest Names for School Buildings; §2-19, Superintendent's Recommended Capital Improvements Program: Closure of an Existing School; §2-31 Policy Manual; and §8-34 Beepers, Personal Communication Devices and Laser Pointers.
Instruction – Blue Ridge District School Board member Priscilla Godfrey presented School Policy Revision §5-39, Drug Education.

Eileen Murdock and Jack Weber addressed the School Board about a disciplinary matter. Michelle Falli spoke about Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) substitute protocol. Katie Wheeler discussed a Washington Post article on Loudoun's Green Initiative and how it relates to elementary boundaries.
