The School Board Approved:
Minutes; exemption from school attendance for religious reasons; IFB #10-06, Recap Tire Service, Renewal; IFB #0901, Fire Sprinkler/Suppression System, Inspections and Repair, Renewal; RFP #11F, Bus Driver and Department of Transportation Physicals and Other Services; RFP #11G, Towing and Vehicle Recovery Services; RFP #10H, Agency Nursing Services for Students, Renewal; Committee to Suggest Names for New High School (HS-7) to be located on Goshen Road, adjacent to the Stone Ridge development; and licensed and classified personnel actions, including the following administrative appointment:
Eric L. Stewart as director of curriculum and instruction effective January 3, 2011. Mr. Stewart holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics education from the University of Kentucky and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from George Mason University. He has served as a math teacher at Loudoun County High School; as a dean at Broad Run High School; as assistant principal at J. Lupton Simpson Middle School; as principal of Sully Elementary; and as principal at Smart's Mill Middle School.
…commending the LCPS Special Education and Transportation departments for regularly analyzing bus routes to improve efficiencies and in reducing bus routes by combining special education students with regular student bus riders where feasible.
…adopting the Superintendent's Proposed Capital Improvement Program for the purpose of offering amendments.
