The Loudoun County School Board held a meeting at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, in the School Board Meeting Room at the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Administrative Offices, 21000 Education Court in Ashburn.

Work Session
Loudoun Education Alliance of Families (LEAF) presented the School Board with an update.
The Department of Business and Financial Services presented a School Board Calendar for the Development of the Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Operating Budget.
The Department of Digital Innovation demonstrated a new Electronic Voting Board in the Board Room.
The School Board then went into a Closed session.
Recessed Meeting
Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by VHSL 2022-2023 State Champions from LCPS Spring Sports. The National Anthem was performed by the Park View High School Marching Band.
Student and Staff Recognitions
Inova was recognized for the unique LCPS and Inova Concussion Program Partnership.
The School Board recognized student-athletes from VHSL State Championships during the 2022-2023 School Year – Spring Team Champions.
The One LCPS Spotlight: Catoctin Elementary School - Recognized for Early Literacy and UFLI Foundations in action.

Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Spence shared a number of updates, including:

His three-phase Forward Together Entry Plan that will take place over the next six months.

Construction continues on Henrietta Lacks ES and Watson Mountain MS with expectations to open for the 2024-2025 school year.

LCPS is piloting its first Middle School Intramural Sports Program.
