School Board Summary September 27, 2022
The Loudoun County School Board held a meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
Chair Jeff Morse (Dulles District), Vice Chair Ian Serotkin (Blue Ridge District), Atoosa Reaser (Algonkian District), Harris Mahedavi (Ashburn District), Andrew Hoyler (Broad Run District),John Beatty (Catoctin District), Tom Marshall (Leesburg District) and Brenda Sheridan (Sterling District) attended the meeting at the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Administrative Offices, 21000 Education Court, Ashburn. Denise Corbo (At-Large) attended remotely.
WORK SESSION
Department of Support Services: Chief Operations Officer Kevin Lewis and Erica Bush and Charles Avery, co-chairs of the Douglass High School Commemorative Committee (HSCC), presented the Douglass High School Renovation Project, Memoranda of Understanding with LCPS-Related Historical Organizations and Douglass High School Commemorative Committee Update.
Department of Instruction: Director, English Learners Charisse Rosario and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Ashley Ellis presented an English Learner Program Update.
PLEDGE LEADERS
One student representing each fifth-grade class at Loudoun County Public Schools’ newest school, Elaine E. Thompson Elementary, recited the Pledge of Allegiance. These students included Riya Sama, Evan Zheng, Lucas Monarch, Kyle Renken and Layla Athwal.
NATIONAL ANTHEM
The National Anthem was performed by the Tuscarora High School Orchestra Small Chamber Ensemble. Performers included Will Anderson, Natalie Tikalsky, Miles Johnson, Tom Trudel, Caitlynn Ring, Keyrin Andrade, Stephany Montoya and Diego Castillo Jimenez. Orchestra Director Larisa Marian performed with the students on violin.

Ahmad Woods as auditor general. Mr. Woods holds a degree in accounting from Grambling State University. He has served as an auditor and senior auditor for the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA); as senior auditor OIG for the Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Area Authority; and as senior auditor for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Seniors Alex Ahedo, of Loudoun County High School, and Adam Domanico, of Lightridge High School, and junior Arjun Setty, of Potomac Falls High School, were introduced as the student School Board members.
