Breinig Is VATFACS President-Elect
The Virginia Association for Teachers of Family & Consumer Sciences (VATFACS) elected and installed its 2021-2022 Board of Directors during its recent Professional Development Institute in McLean. Diane Breinig, a family and consumer sciences teacher at Briar Woods High School, was selected as VATFACS president-elect.
Breinig will serve a three-year term on the VATFACS Board of Directors.
Breinig’s educational experience includes teaching middle and high school family and consumer sciences and high school business and marketing during the last 24 years. She is a certified state trainer for the Teacher Cadet program. She brings the past experiences of having served as VATFACS vice president and hospitality chair to her new role. She also has been an Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) member for six years.
VATFACS is an organization dedicated to promoting family and consumer sciences in Virginia public schools to improve the lives of students, their families and their communities.
