Students Contribute to Local Magazine
Four LCPS high school students have taken part in a powerful partnership this year that has resulted in Loudoun County residents receiving a beautiful magazine in their mailboxes later this summer.
Loudoun Community Press is publishing Loudoun County Magazine as a product of their “Writing, Storytelling and Art for the Community” project. The project brought together representatives of three organizations with one shared mission--the Loudoun County Public Library, the Loudoun Literacy Council and Loudoun County Public Schools. The goal of the partnership was to capture student voice and share it with the larger community.
LCPS was represented by three student editors:
- Brandon Esguerra, Freedom High School
- Emiya Diaz, Potomac Falls High School
- Layne Sheplee, Independence High School.
Ella Huck, of Independence High School, served as photographer.
Former School Board Member Beth Huck and Jessica Monte served as advisors to the Loudoun Community Press.
LCPS students of all abilities from all schools may consider participating in this program during the next school year.
