School Board Agenda for March 10
The Loudoun County School Board will meet at 4 and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at the LCPS Administrative Offices, 21000 Education Court, Ashburn. The full meeting agenda is available on the LCPS website.
At 4 p.m., the board will hold a closed session.
The 6:30 session includes recognitions for Schools to Watch and the new LCPS National Board-Certified teachers.
Action items during the 6:30 session include:
- A proclamation recognizing March 2020 as National Professional Social Work Month.
- A proclamation recognizing March 2020 as Women’s History Month.
- A recommendation to endorse the concept of the electronic distribution of flyers.
- An energy-saving performance contract update for J. Lupton Simpson Middle School.
- A resolution in support of the 2020 U.S. Census
Information items include:
- The 2020-2021 school calendars for Hillsboro Charter Academy (HCA) and Middleburg Community Charter School (MCCS).
- School resource officers in elementary schools.
- The revision of School Board Policy 4130, Annual Operating Budget.
- An update on the FY21 special education staffing standards.
- An update on LCPS plans concerning COVID-19.
The public is welcome to attend School Board meetings, and present comments. Speakers are invited to sign up in advance using a form, or in the back of the meeting room prior to the meeting, up to five minutes before the meeting begins.
A high-definition webcast of Loudoun County School Board meetings is viewable on the LCPS website. Meetings also are broadcast live on Comcast channel 18 and Verizon FIOS channel 43.
