The Department of Digital Innovation (DDI) strives to provide appropriate bandwidth and connectivity to support over 100,000 students and staff and over 250,000 unique devices on network each month.
To meet this demand, DDI has:
upgraded and expanded the LCPS wireless networks to ensure all BYOT and Student 1:1 devices are able to connect to the internet.
upgraded bandwidth at all secondary schools and consistently increased internet capacity which currently sits a 20 Gbps. By leveraging data center connectivity, DDI will be able to increase internet capacity to meet ongoing district needs.
DDI is also working to implement a resilient dark fiber network for all LCPS locations which will allow DDI to provide a robust network, consistent availability, and enable the district to quickly implement bandwidth increases as instructional programs and practices evolve.
