Lucketts Creates Fine Dining Experience

Before Thanksgiving, the Lucketts Elementary community was challenged to donate 250 turkeys (at $10 per turkey) to Loudoun Hunger Relief.  The school’s PTA collected the money for this effort and, by the deadline, members of the school community collected enough money to donate 328 turkeys.

Students were told that if they met the challenge, parents would celebrate with them by turning the school cafeteria into a “fine dining experience.” On Wednesday, December 5th, the cafeteria featured tablecloths, (electric) candlelight, flowers and music. Students were greeted by a “maître d’” who asked if they had a reservation and then seated them. Parents and staff were dressed in tuxedos to serve the students.  It was a celebration of the kindness and generosity shown to support the community.
