Broad Run DECA Captures District Honors

Students from Broad Run High School’s DECA chapter captured top honors at the District 10 competition on November 17th and have earned the right to represent their district at the State DECA Conference in March.


In the Fundamentals of Business and Marketing Events designed for freshmen, Emilee Lupisella placed second in selling, and Elizabeth Fikru won second place in social media.


In the Principles of Business and Marketing Events designed for first-year DECA members, Robert Lalayan won fourth place on the Marketing Exam. Nick Baker won third place in the Role Play category that focused on economics. Emily Wiersma finished fourth in the Principles of Hospitality and Tourism category. Ramzi Tulty placed second in the Role Play on operations and third place in the Principles of Marketing category.


In the Business and Marketing Series Events open to students in any grade level, Arun Shashidhar finished third on the Automotive Services Marketing Exam, fourth in the role play and third overall. Aniket Adhikari placed second in the Automotive Services Role Play. Saransh Sharma finished fourth in the Financial Analysis category. Sarah Saghir placed fourth on the marketing test.


Riya Pulla finished third on the Marketing Exam in the Business Finance Series, second on the Role Play in Economics and fourth overall in the category.


Varisha Patel won third place in the Marketing Exam in the Restaurant Marketing category, first for the Promotion Role Play and second overall in the category.


Daniel DiBari finished fourth in the Food Service Management Marketing Exam.


George Bowie finished second in the Food Service Management Role Play on Customer Relations and fourth place overall in the category.


Sidney Ramos won second place in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Role Play related to pricing.
