Potomac Falls Swimmer Earns All-America Honors

Janika Perezous, a sophomore at Potomac Falls High School, has been recognized as an All-America swimmer by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) for her performance in the 100-yard backstroke during the 2017-18 school year.

She was one of 10 high school freshmen nationwide to receive this designation.

In addition, Perezous made the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America List. Unlike NISCA All-America status, which is based on athletic performance alone, the USA Swimming honor requires a combination of athletic achievement and academic excellence: at least one Junior National Qualifying time is needed. Perezous had such “cut times” in two events, coupled with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.50.
