Pinebrook Packs Comfort Cases

Students at Pinebrook Elementary have a new understanding of how kids can help kids after a recent donation drive and packing party.

The school adopted a local non-profit called Comfort Cases.  Comfort Cases provides a backpack filled with items such as pajamas, blankets, books, journals, toiletries, stuffed animals and coloring books for children who are in Virginia’s foster care system.

After a month-long drive to collect items, Pinebrook recently held a Comfort Cases Packing Party.  The packing party was connected to the school’s annual Random Acts of Kindness celebration.  Pinebrook also joined forces with the Ashburn Chapter of the Youth Men’s Service League.  This group of mothers and sons collected donations as well and took part in the packing.

When the party was over, 136 Comfort Cases had been created to support children in our community.
