Dear Liberty Families,

This week, our students have started SOL (Standards of Learning) Tests and have done an incredible job.   Recently the process by which SOL test results are loaded into our Student Information System (SIS) has been streamlined allowing for a student’s SOL test result to be posted in the SIS within a day or two of the student taking the test.   Once loaded, the SOL test result is also viewable by the student and parent through the web version of SVUE/PVUE (Test History Menu).  If you are interested in your student's score, please check the system within 24-48 hours after they completed the test.

Food Allergy Awareness Week is this week, May 14 – May 18.  The Office of Student Health Services would like to take this opportunity to help bring awareness and education to our students, staff and community.  Did you know:

  • 1 in 13 children has a food allergy. That’s two in every classroom!
  • Nationally, every 3 min, a food allergy reaction sends someone to the ER – that's more than 200,000 visits per year.
  • 8 foods account for the majority of all reactions: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, fish and shellfish, but ANY food can be an allergen.
  • Food allergies can begin at any age and affect children and adults of all races and ethnicity.

Also, please remember that our PTA is selling school supply kits by grade level for next year.  You can order your supplies now by clicking this link.  Parents of rising 6th graders who are attending J. Michael Lunsford Middle School can order the supply kit from its PTA here.

Have a wonderful weekend.
