Grzech Takes Part in Galactic Gathering

NJROTC Cadet Margaret Grzech, a rising junior at Loudoun County High School, attended “Galactic Gathering…Celebrating Indiana’s Space Heritage” on July 15th in Mitchell, Ind.


Seven astronauts gathered to celebrate Indiana astronauts in the hometown of Virgil “Gus” Grissom, one of the original Mercury astronauts. 


Grzech attended “Indiana’s Space Symposium” where guest astronauts spoke of their career paths to space through engineering, science, medicine and the military.  Astronauts also shared details of their experiences as astronauts.


Tony England spoke of his experience with Apollo 13 in Mission Control.


Jerry Ross told of his seven missions and what it is like to walk in space.


Margaret toured Grissom’s boyhood home and met astronauts David Wolf, Charlie Walker, England, Mark Brown, Ross, Kevin Ford and Joe Allen.
