Claude Moore Community Builders (CMCB)
The 2021-2022 Claude Moore Community Builders (CMCB) program is an amazing volunteer opportunity for high school students. The CMCB program, run by Loudoun Youth, Inc., connects high school students with meaningful volunteer opportunities at local non-profit organizations. During the 10-month program, which runs annually from June-March, participants also attend trainings on topics such as communication, leadership, and collaboration. CMCB participants gain real-life experience and professional skills that will help you stand out among your peers when applying to colleges and/or employment.
After a year-long hiatus due to COVID-19, the CMCB program is back and gearing up to get teens out of their homes and into vital organizations that need their support! All rising 9th-12th grade Loudoun residents are eligible to apply for this program, which is free to all participants thanks to the generous support of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation.
More information can be found at loudounyouth.org.

2020-21 LCPS Stakeholder School Climate Survey
The 2020-21 LCPS School Climate Surveys will be administered in May 2021. The staff and family surveys will begin on May 17 and the student survey will begin May 20. LCPS will email a one-time use link to families so that they can respond once per child enrolled to provide feedback about their child's experience in the school. School-based staff members will receive a one-time use survey link by email.
The student survey will be administered to grades 3-5 and 9-12 during the school day beginning on May 20. Middle school students participated in the Virginia school climate survey in March and will not be asked to complete an LCPS survey this year. Students will complete the survey during advisory the week of May 24.
Sample surveys are available on the Stakeholder Survey website at https://www.lcps.org/Page/189350.
Parents/guardians who would like to opt their child out of the survey should fill out this form by May 17.
SOL Testing Information (May-June)
SOL testing for 9th through 11th graders begins on Monday, May 3! Please go to tinyurl.com/PFH-SOL to view our SOL testing overview schedule. You will also find information on make-ups and retakes.
Please remind your student to PLUG IN THEIR SCHOOL CHROMEBOOK or ACADEMY THINKPAD the night before the test! We do not have any extra devices available for use. A student cannot test without a working Chromebook or Academy ThinkPad.
A student will find their personal SOL testing schedule (with dates, times, and locations) in an email in their LCPS student account sent on April 26 from Mr. Vogl, Testing Coordinator.
