Parent Input - Class Placement

Posted by Andrew Davis on 5/16/2018

Greetings Parents,

It is that time again when we begin to plan for next year.  I again want to thank everyone who responded to the various surveys that came out from LCPS.  Your input is very important to me and our school.  We had 114 parents respond to our Annual Parent Survey which addressed the areas of academic supports, communications, relationships, and safety.  This graphic gives you an overview of the data that was received.

If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to review our school's survey results (student, staff, and parents) by clicking HERE. We have already begun to analyze your commendations and recommendations as we look to next year.  Please know that your children are at the heart of every decision we make and we value the feedback that you provide us.

Student Placement Parent Input Form

Even though the first day of school seems far away, we have already begun our planning for the next school year. Part of our planning involves the initial placement of children in classes. The Round Hill procedure is a careful process utilizing information from a variety of sources, which include homeroom teacher, specialists, and the administration. We consider issues related to peers both in the school and in the neighborhood, learning styles and needs, prior experiences with teachers and classmates, and a number of other issues. As you can image there are a lot of factors to consider.

You are invited to assist by completing the following information. If you would like to complete this OPTIONAL questionnaire, the information you provide will be considered as classes for next school year are formed.

I would prefer that you do not request a specific teacher for your child or request that a specific teacher be excluded in placement considerations but if you do, please understand that there are no guarantees that your specific request will be honored. We appreciate your input and will do our best to take it into consideration but final decisions on placement are our responsibility. One that we take very seriously. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your input. Our goal is always to set your child up for success!
