If you are planning on taking classes at NOVA next year,  Samantha Ottenheimer, from Nova, will be in the Career Center on Tuesday, May 7th, from 10:00 -12:00 (A Day) and on Tuesday, May 14th, from 12:30 -2:30 (B day). She will be coming to assist anybody who needs help registering for classes in the fall.

Personalized Senior Grad Yard Signs [connected/posted 3/22/2024]

If you have not yet placed your order, this is the LAST CALL. The last day to place your order is midnight 3/31/24.   Click HERE for direct link.

The yard signs will be delivered to your home by our Project Grad volunteers sometime the week of May 13-19.  

Please be patient if you see one neighborhood have their yard sign up and you have not yet received your order. 

We need to allow each volunteer to complete the delivery, based on their available time during those 7 dates. Thank you!

Seniors: NOVA Field Trip [emailed 2/20; posted 2/23]

NOVA would like to extend an invitation to high school seniors to participate in our annual IET Career Days. The IET Career Days are designed to introduce students to career pathways offered within the Information Engineering Technology Division. During the IET Career Days, students will tour our campus, and participate in breakout sessions to learn from industry professionals about careers in the following disciplines:

1.    Computer Science and Information Technology
2.    Data Center Operations and Engineering Technology
3.    Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing
4.    Data Analytics and AI
5.    Emerging In-Demand Careers
In addition, students will receive a box lunch. Special dietary requests cannot be accommodated. Students with dietary restrictions are encouraged to bring their own lunches. This is a first come first serve event. Invitations will be sent out to high schools across all districts that encompass NOVA’s service area, and each campus has a maximum of 200 student capacity. Below you will find the registration link which contains dates, times, and locations for the IET Career Days. To improve on logistical lessons learned from our last IET Career Days we ask that you help us make this year’s event a successful experience for students.

1.    Please distribute the form to students and have them sign up. STUDENTS MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND.
2.    If students are under the age of 18, they must have parent or guardian approval. (space provided on the registration link)
3.    Teachers and chaperones will register using the same link.
4.    NOVA staff will provide a weekly update to participating high schools with the number of registered participants.
5.    Once registration from the high school reaches 25 students, NOVA will schedule a charter bus to transport students to and from the event. There is a 50-student capacity for the bus service. If you have more than 50 students from your high school interested, please reach out to the event coordinators.

SENIORS: Are you proficient in the following languages?


Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and/or Spanish If so, you can take the AAPPL test or the ALIRA (Latin) test to earn the Seal of Biliteracy. The test will be given on 3/19/24 at 9:45 am in the library.

 

  • Step 1: Decide if you are interested in earning the Seal of Biliteracy

Don't miss your opportunity to celebrate your special senior's upcoming graduation by ordering a senior/baby ad in the yearbook!  Senior/baby ads are a great way to recognize your senior's hard work, plus 100% of the purchase price goes to support the Broad Run yearbook program.  To purchase a senior/baby ad, follow these steps:

Broad Run High School Class of 2024 will be graduating at 10:00 am on June 15, 2024 at Eagle Bank Area, GMU, Fairfax, VA.

LCPS Immunization Reminder for rising 12th Grade [posted  6/07/23]  

This is a reminder that all rising 12th grade students must show proof of having received a MenACWY (Menactra, Menveo, MenQuadfi) vaccine after the age of 16 years to start school on August 24, 2023.

 

This vaccine is being provided by the Loudoun County Health Department at several immunization clinics this summer. The vaccine is provided at no cost to the family.

 

If your student has health insurance, you must provide the insurance information at the time of your visit so that the insurance can be billed for the administration of the vaccine. If your student does not have health insurance, there is no charge for the vaccine. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to receive the vaccine.

 

The Immunization Clinics will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the following dates at the following schools:

  • July 13 – Simpson Middle School
  • July 20 – Riverbend Middle School
  • August 4 – Lightridge High School
  • August 10 – Riverside High School

You are welcome to bring your student to any of these vaccination clinics to receive the required vaccine. Don’t wait until the last minute to have your student vaccinated. If you have any questions, please call Student Health Services at 571-252-1017.  Click HERE for information flyer
