Summer 2020 Information

NFHS to Host First Virtual National Student Leadership Summit, July 20-22 [posted 7/3/20]

*Deadline to register extended to July 17.

We are excited to share that the 2020 NFHS Student Leadership Summit will be offered online, free to any student who wishes to participate this year.  Virginia usually sends a delegation of up to six students each year, and joins groups of similar size from around the country in Indianapolis.  With the 2020 Ken Tilley VHSL Student Leadership Conference having been cancelled, and this year’s national summit being offered online, we hope many schools and students in Virginia will take this opportunity to experience this wonderful leadership opportunity.  Over 2,600 students nationally are currently registered.  The schedule for all three days of the summit will be from 12:45pm to 2:30pm, and the deadline to register has been extended to July 17, 2020.

Students may sign up individually for access to the sessions.  But potentially, given your locality’s access to facilities in the phased return to schools, we hope that schools are able to gather students in small groups under existing guidelines to have a more in-person experience.  Regardless of where we are however, this summit will be a great learning and growing experience for all involved.  You can get more information, and register at the link below.  Additional information is also available on the attached press release from NFHS.
