Recently, Cool Spring Elementary was named a 2022-2024 National PTA School of Excellence! National PTA’s School of Excellence program supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools that work to improve the educational experience and school environment for every child. Our school and PTA are one of only 368 PTAs and schools (2 in LCPS) nationwide to be designated a 2022-2024 School of Excellence.

The School of Excellence program provided guidance to assist our school in engaging families in school decision-making, and help our school support students and families within the category of 'Ensure the health and safety of students' and our goal of 'addressing the problem of hunger among students and families in the school community'. Among the strategies used in the efforts were a Nutrition Club, Share Cart in the cafeteria and student mentoring.

Becoming a National PTA School of Excellence is a result of a joint commitment between our PTA, school staff and community partners to work together to make a difference to enhance the our student's educational experience and the overall wellbeing of our students and families.

We will be receiving a certificate and a banner to hang in our school soon. We are proud to receive this recognition and will continue to work to improve and enhance the school experience and overall programs for our students and community in the new school year!
