About the Program The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) is a free, tax preparation assistance service for Loudoun County residents with limited incomes. The Internal Revenue Service trains volunteers to provide assistance with preparing certain federal and state income tax forms. This program operates at various sites throughout the county during February, March, and early April.

Required Documents The following documents are required in order to have your taxes prepared:
A photo ID
A copy of the previous year’s federal and state tax returns
All W-2 forms and statements (Social Security, Welfare, Retirement, Unemployment)
Medical, tax, interest statements, and other deduction information
Social Security cards for all persons claimed on the return
