U.S. Presidential Scholars Program recognizes and honors outstanding high school seniors whose performance demonstrates excellence.
Established in 1964, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program began by executive order of the President to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. The program was extended in 1979 to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative and performing arts, and in 2015, to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields. The Presidential Scholars is one of the nation's highest honors for high school students and awards the honor to up to 161 students.
